Welcome to our website

St Andrew’s is the Church of England church for Bicknacre, a village near Chelmsford in Essex, UK.

We are a lively church with members of all ages. Our services are informal and relaxed, and we always look forward to welcoming new faces. If you’d like to find out more about what to expect at our Sunday services, click here. During our services we have a crèche and childrens groups for ages up to 13. For older teenagers there is a Sunday evening group, CYFA with over 30 members. For more information, please see the services or groups pages, or feel free to contact us.

Our church is at the heart of the Bicknacre community. We are involved in the development of a new combined Church and community centre, the local village schools and the Bicknacre Festival. As well as our Sunday services, we hold a wide range of events during the week, ranging from the Course in Christian Studies, a pre-school service ‘Little Treasures’, housegroups, as well as football and netball teams.

Our church is rooted in the belief that Jesus is the son of God, who died to enable us to be forgiven for the things we do wrong. This means that we can now have a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. As a statement of what we believe, we say the Creed at our services.
